SPECIAL WORKSHOP
Balboa for Dancers
Save the Date!
Oct 11-12
2:30 to 5:30 Saturday and Sunday
Two 1.5 hr classes each day, 4 total, focusing on the 3 major components of balboa. This is a boot camp style crash course on Balboa. Students should leave this class feeling like they've been given a framework for the dance and a road map for learning that they can build upon. We will cover a lot! Don't expect to be perfect at everything we're showing and just enjoy the ride. We're gonna have a great time!
Prerequisite expectation is that you and the people you dance with consider you a decent social dancer. You have experience, feel comfortable dancing with a variety of partners, and love to dance. While we would of course welcome Balboa dancers, this class is for people who are proficient dancers in something other than Balboa.

About Instructor Nicholas Tapia
Instructor Nicholas Tapia has been teaching dance professionally since 2009. He started instructing ballroom, transitioned to Argentine Tango (won the US Championships), then stumbled into swing where he ended up winning a few Lindy and Shag competitions and coaching a team along the way. After a pandemic detour into other projects and then some world traveling, he’s back to dancing, diving deep into Balboa while still teaching Shag and Tango in places like Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Germany, and California.
He believes partner dancing is one of the best things a person can do for themselves and their community.
